A Very Fine Writer of Fictions

April 2023 Mix

It’s kinda sort of maybe warming up here in the Midwest, which means parking lot medians are being mulched. If they have any mulch-worthy medians, that is. I love this American National Bank building on Maple and 90th. It reminds me of monstrous concrete buildings and civic decorations in Yucatan.

Anyway, I finished my novel manuscript today. The only real thing I’m wondering is if I should change the name of the town it takes place in since I really don’t know Fremont, Nebraska, very well. I’m happy with the story. I think it works, it’s mine, that kind of thing.

This is a shorter mix than usual. I’m ready for May’s. The Samia song is pretty cheesy but it makes me happy, the way it builds, and it feels summery. Elsewhere, I’ve been listening to funk and disco to cheer me up. As B.T. Express puts it, Don’t stop dancing till the day you die.
