Here’s a pic of my childhood bedroom erased of childhood. Many a mix was made here on a red Sony boombox, first directly off the radio and then tape-to-tape with my dual-cassette player. There was a Walter Payton poster up on the left side of the window, a Chris Sabo one on the right. The walls were a hideous blue when I was young and now they’re beige as adulthood. I didn’t mean to put it through the black and white filter when I cropped the pic but here it is. My parents are in their 80s and something is winding down, but I don’t know what it is yet.
It’s been a weird year of struggling to find new music I like. I listen too often on my ear buds at too low a volume, a lot of solitary listening at home. No bueno. I turned fifty. Something changed in me, but I don’t know what it is yet.
I love you all. Peace.
