I was born in 1973, the year by all objective measures the United States began its slow decline. But as my son tells me whenever he screws something up, That’s okay. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, attended The Ohio State University and moved to the lovely, brutal city of Chicago. There I improbably shoehorned my English BA into the position of CFO at an internet company and commercial stage theater. In 2015, I earned an MFA degree in fiction from Roosevelt University, where I won the Thesis Award. I now live in Mighty Omaha, Nebraska, with my wife and son, where the sky is grand and the prairie survives in remnants.
